Conspeed
Accelerator for Concrete And Cement Mixes
Conforms to BS 5057: Part 1 : 1982 and ASTM
C494-80 Type E
DESCRIPTION
Conspeed is an
accelerating water-reducing admixture designed
to accelerate the setting time of concrete and
cement mixes by aiding the hydration of cement
and increasing the density. Conspeed is of
particular value to the precast concrete
industry where it is necessary for concrete to
set more rapidly for greater productivity.
It is NOT
recommended. for use in reinforced concrete.
Standard mix design methods may be used with a
reduction of the cement content by approximately
10%o when compared with plain concrete at
equivalent workability.
With harsh
aggregates or gap-graded mixes the cement
reduction may be less than 10%, however, a
marked improvement in cohesion will be achieved
with reduced segregation and bleeding.
TYPICAL PROPERTIES
Speeds up the initial setting
time, thus, enabling formworks
to be removed earlier and
re-used.
Enable the production of
workable, high early strength,
higher density concrete with
reduced tendency to segregate,
bleed and creep.
Aids compaction and the
production of fair-faced
concrete
Reduce viscosity thus improving
pumpabi5ty.
Enable optimum cement contents
to be selected
for given strength requirements.
"Conspeed" should
be specify by name and used as per Application
instructions below.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Conspeed should be
added together with the gauging water at a dose rate
of 0.25 to 20 litres per 100 kg cement depending on
the degree of acceleration required. As a guide, the
following table may be used.

Note that the above
figures will vary with different cements and
conditions prevailing at site.
Therefore site
trials should be carried out to find the optimum
dosage for any particular degree of acceleration
required. N.B.: Conspeed must be stirred before use,
especially before decanting from the container.
