Expagrate Standard
Concrete Surface Retarder - Paste Type
DESCRIPTION
Expagrate Standard is a thick paste
concrete surface retarder.
It is
easily applied using a flat paint brush
or roller to the mould or shuttering
surface. Expagrate Standard produces a
rough prepared surface suitable for the
perfect bonding of cement/sand,
rendering coats, plasters, etc., without
the necessity to stab hack in order to
achieve a suitable key.
The
finish obtained is pleasing in texture
and decorative and extremely durable,
weathering evenly like natural stone,
unlike the smooth finished concrete
which often stains and streaks as it
matures. Expagrate Standard is not
suitable for use with white cement.
SPECIFYING

Standard" should be specified by name
and used as per application procedures
below.
Apply
Expagrate Standard to the mould or shuttering
surface using flat paint brush or roller.
Allow time for
the material to harden. This will take
approximately 2 hours but will require longer
time in cold damp conditions.
Note: It is
important to maintain consistent coverage in
order
to achieve a consistent finish to the
surface.
Then erect the
mould and cast concrete.
Dismantle the
mould/shutter of the treated surface within 48
hours and water-jet the concrete surfaces.. This
is to maintain optimal effectiveness of the
product.
Expagrate
Standard is applicable on all types of
mould/shuttering materials.
When used for
poured insitu concrete, use baffle/sliding
shutter to prevent the abrasive action of the
concrete from removing Expagrate Standard from
the surface of the mould and cause an
inconsistent finish to the concrete.
