Powder Tile Adhesive
Non-Slip Tile Adhesive Powder
Conforms to BS 5980: 1980 Type 1 Class AA
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Non-Slip Tile
Adhesive Powder is a thin-bed cementitious
non-slip ceramic tile adhesive.
The adhesive is
characterised by its excellent adhesion to many
construction materials such as concrete, cement
rendering, asbestos cement, unglazed tile and
gypsum based finishes. Non-Slip Tile Adhesive
Powder is easy to use as it only requires
appropriate amount of water to produce a creamy
easy-to-trowel adhesive.
For areas
subjecting to extreme vibration or where high
water resistance is required, Flextoner (please
refer to separate data sheet) can be
incorporated into the mix, as this will greatly
improve the resilience to vibration and its
waterproofing property.
TYPICAL PROPERTIES
Easy to
use
Non-slip
property enables tiling to commence
top-down.
Excellent
bond and shear strengths.
Good open
and adjustability time.
Can be
incorporated with Flextoner to give
excellent waterproofing property and high
resilient to vibration.
The surface
should clean and free of loose, flaky materials,
oil, grease and other contaminants.
All surface
defects must be made good.
New
cement-based substrate must be allowed to cured
for at least 28 days.
High absorbent
surface, such as heated surface from exposure to
sunlight, must be damped with clean water.
Preparation of Mix
Pour the
required proportion of water into a pail, in the
ratio of 6.0 - 6.5 litres of water to 25 kg of
powder adhesive.
Add the
proportioned amount of adhesive and mix
thoroughly using a power mixer until a
homogenous lump-free smooth paste is achieved.
Application of Mix
Apply mixed
adhesive by working it thoroughly onto the
surface using a notched trowel.
However when
incorporating with Flextoner to improve
waterproofing property, a continuous solid
bedding should be employed.
Apply only
enough adhesive that can be tiled in 15 minutes
as prolong exposure of bare adhesive may affect
some of its properties.
Pressed tiles
firmly onto wet adhesive and ensure good
contact.
Should
skinning be formed due to prolong exposure
before tiling, re-trowel the skinned surface
until 'wet adhesive is formed to receive tiles.
Any adjustment
to tile's position must be made within 15
minutes after fixing of tile otherwise the
applied adhesive need to be removed and
re-applied.
Tiled surfaces
must be protected against direct sunlight, rain
and traffic for at least 24 hours.
Allow adhesive
to set for at least 24 hours before grouting.
Note : Do not wet
surface of applied adhesive after skinning occurs.
