Cemplas
Liquid Mortar Plasticiser
Conforms to BS 4887 Part 1 : 1986
DESCRIPTION
Cemplas is
a chloride-free liquid mortar plasliciser.
It is a resin-based air-entraining agent
that improves the workability of cement
mixes and providing frost-resistance
after-set Cemplas is superior to using rime
in cement mixes as it reduces "rime bloom"
and efflorescence.
Cemplas is
recommended for use in brick-laying,
pointing mortar, rendering, plastering and
backing coat.
TYPICAL PROPERTIES
Improves plasticity and increases ease
of application.
Reduces rime bloom.
Maintains optimum air-entrainment even
in the case of over-mixing.
Enables the mortar to accommodate
accidental over-dosage.
Economy of use as compared with rime,
induced cement mixes.
Reduces glazing.
Increases frost resistant property of
the set mortar.
Improves durability of the mortar.
Reduces the water' content of the
mortar.
SPECIFYING
"Cemplas" should be specified by name
and used as per application procedures
below.
Reference
should be made to the appropriate British
Standards and Codes of Practice to ensure
correct material selection and adoption of
satisfactory procedures in producing: the
mortar. General plastering work.
Add Cemplas to
the gauging water at the rate of 250 to 500 ml
per 100 kg of cement, then pour to the dry mixed
cement mortar.
Mix thoroughly
to ensure maximum plasticity.
For
bricklaying, the strength of the selected mix
should approximate the brick.
For internal &
sheltered external renderings, a mortar mix of 1
: 6 + Cemplas is recommended.
For exposed
external rendering, a mortar mix of 1 :41/2 +
Cemplas is recommended.
