Synthetic-modified Cementitious Light-weight Repair Mortar Conforms to BS 4550 and BS 6319

DESCRIPTION

Cempatch-118 is a lightweight, high-build, synthetic-modified cementitious repair mortar.

It contains highly graded filler, hydraulic binders and synthetic resin. Cempatch-118 is free of chlorides and nitrates, alkaline in nature and non-corrosive. It is highly resistant to carbon dioxide and sulphur dox ide.

It provides good protection for embedded steel reinforcements. Cempatch-118 adheres extremely well to concrete substrates and can be used for small and large area repairs due to the ease of application and non-shrink property.

Cempatch-118 hardens without shrinkage nor expansion even when applied in thick layers and it possesses rapid strength development.

"Cempatch-118" should be specified by name and used as per application procedures stated above.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

• Surface Preparation

1. The surface should be free of loose, flaky materials, oil, grease and other contaminants.
2. The surface should be clean and pre-wetted with clean water.
3. The surface should first be applied with a priming coat of Cementone Superbond SBR bonding slurry.
4. Allow time for the slurry coat to become 'tacky'.
5. Reinforcement should be first treated with rust protectant such as a steel sealer or liquid epoxy primer.

• Preparation of Cempatch-118

1. Pour 4.5 litres of water into a pail.
2. Add the 25kg of Cempatch-118 slowly while mixing.
3. Stir slowly but constantly with a low-speed mixing paddle until a homogeneous lump-free mix is achieved.
4. Ensure that there is minimal air-entrainment in the mix.

• Application of Cempatch-118

1. Ensure that the temperature is above 7° Celsius so as to achieve the optimal results.
2. Apply Cempatch-118 onto primed surface with a steel trowel.
3. Protect the repaired surface from hot and strong windy conditions so as to prevent excessive evaporation.

• Curing of surface treated with Cempatch-118
  Cure repaired surface with Cemcure EB 231 to retain water rquired for proper hydration of mortar.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

• Clean with water tools and other equipment before Cempatch-118 hardens.

 SAFETY PRECAUTION

• Avoid direct contact with eye and skin.
• Wear gloves and goggles.
• Wash skin or affected area with clean water.
• Avoid ingestion.
